Christmas Dance

on thursday, the 17th, we all went to a christmas dance at talia's school. arianna and talia dressed up in fancy dresses (from last easter because they don't like their christmas dresses because they have long sleeves. oy!) they danced to party in the usa, the electric slide, and the cupid shuffle. arianna had a blast. talia was disappointed because her "boyfriend" james wasn't there. they have been talking alot about who they "love" and are going to marry. today arianna told me when she is an adult like me she wants to be a zoo keeper and have 4 kids - 3 girls and a boy. talia says she wants to be a cheerleader and have no kids. arianna asked her "what would you do with your kids? give them to me?" talia says "yes." arianna says "no, i wouldn't take care of them." talia says "then i'll take them to the police." i started laughing so hard i was crying. where do they come up with this stuff??

Scott took us to Cabelas in Wheeling yesterday. Arianna & Talia ate duck wings for lunch. Scott and I had buffalo burgers. The girls loved it and won't stop talking about it.

Baby Shower

Awana Grand Prix

Arianna won 2nd place for design for her barnyard car and Landen won 3rd for his spiderman car at the Awana Grand Prix race at our church on 11/8.

Gettysburg

Devil's Den
Scott and Jaime went to Gettysburg 10/23-25. We stayed at the Brickhouse Inn on Baltimore Street. Friday night, we drove around the national park and went to dinner at The Pub on Lincoln Square. Saturday, we went to the Eisenhower farm adjacent to the national park, had dinner at Cashtown Inn, and went on a ghost walk with Ghosts of Gettysburg tours. Sunday morning, after another awesome breakfast, we walked around town for a bit and then headed home. It rained Friday and Saturday. We were out in it and came home both days completely soaked! It was a wonderful time.

Spirit Week

Today was camoflauge day at school for spirit week. When asked what she wanted to wear for camo day, Arianna said, "I want to wear my kitty outfit so I can blend in with cats."

Scott, Jaime, Arianna, Talia, Danica, Gram, PapPap, Jess & Landen all went to Flint, MI 10/9-12. They went to the Bavarian villiage and Bronner's CHRISTmas Wonderland in Frankenmuth, MI, on 10/10. On 10/11, they went to Crossroads Villiage and Huckleberry Railroad and rode the ghost train and trick-or-treated in the villiage.

Baby Names

Since I've had some people question where we came up with the names for the girls, I decided to post about it.
Arianna Jo - we knew we were having a girl before we decided on names for her. I saw the name Arianna on a baby naming website and we agreed on it right away. Jo is after Scott's dad Joseph who died a month after we were married. *In case* we had a boy we picked Dillion Scott as a back up.
Talia Jae - this was a bit harder to agree on. We had lots of names we liked, but decided that since Arianna was named after Scott's dad, our second would be named after Jaime's. Jaime's family also has all "J's" (James, Janet, Jaime and Jesseca) in it and after further thought, Scott's family also had "J's" (Joseph, Scott John and Brian Joseph) so we decided to carry that on with our kids. We were not 100% sure of the baby's sex after 2 ultrasounds but were pretty sure we were having a girl. Jaime also wanted to end our girl babies' names with "A" in honor of her maiden name Ammon. We heard the name Talia from Scott's good friend that he had while Active Duty in North Carolina who's wife's name was Talia. When she was born she definatly looked like a Talia and we were glad we chose that. We picked Jae for an alternative to James (since Jaime was already taken!). Nolan James was the boy choice.
Danica Jace - Jaime liked the name Danica when she first heard of Danica McKeller on the TV show "The Wonder Years" as a kid. Scott wasn't too keen on the name at first, but since we thought we would be having a boy this time, he agreed on it as the "girl" name. The boy's name Scott picked was Jensen Scott. After we found out 100% that we were having a girl (since boys don't have ovaries), we decided to stay with Danica since it was the only name we could really agree on. Scott right away wanted her nickname to be "Dani." At first, we thought about Jon for a middle name after both of our grandfathers, but there are already alot of John's on both sides, so we thought of who else we would like to honor. Jaime is close with her oldest cousin Jason, and since he has no kids of his own we both agreed to name our daughter after him, and came up with Jace.
We hope you enjoyed learning of the meanings behind our daughters's names. Family means alot to us and we hope we have honored the important people in our lives by naming our daughters after them.

Ft. Dix

Scott arrived at Ft. Dix, NJ, this evening at around 7pm. He called us from the plane, so right now I don't have any more details as to when he'll be home. I'll update email, Facebook, blog, etc. when I know something.

Talia's First Day of School

First Fish

We went to Randy & Jenn's for Randy's birthday. They have a pond in their back yard and we decided to go fishing. Sean, Sarah, Randy, & Jason helped the kids all catch their first fish. (and of course we all had licenses!!)
